Supplements for Extended Fasts

Posted on March 26, 2022May 7, 2024 by OptimalJourney

During an extended fast, it’s crucial to prioritize hydration and maintain electrolyte balance, especially if you are active during your fast. As your body enters a state of ketosis, it utilizes stored fat as its primary source of energy. Similar to a hybrid car, your body can switch between using glucose and fat as fuels.

Fasting deplete essential electrolytes, so it’s vital to replenish them. Opt for electrolyte supplements containing sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. These supplements aid in preventing dehydration and supporting muscle and nerve function.

Electrolyte blend

Creating your own electrolyte blend for extended fasting offers several advantages. By making it yourself, you have control over the ingredients, ensuring that you know exactly what you’re consuming and can avoid any unwanted additives or impurities. This allows you to customize the blend to your specific needs and preferences. Additionally, homemade electrolyte blends can be more cost-effective compared to pre-packaged options. By taking the time to create your own blend, you can prioritize the purity and quality of the ingredients, promoting a successful fast while supporting proper hydration and electrolyte balance.

To create your own electrolyte blend, simply follow the steps provided below.
